Jane Dyck 1956-1979
The following was recently provided to us by Jane's Brother:
The Life of Patricia Jane Dyck 1956 – 1979
Jane was born on May 23, 1956, in Cartwright hospital. She attended Holmfield school from 1961 to 1971, and finished high school in Killarney graduating in 1974.
Jane worked at the Cartwright hospital for a year before taking nursing training in Brandon from 1975 to 1977 and graduated as an RN. She did her practical nursing in Flin Flon, and then got a nursing position in Winkler.
In 1979 she was engaged to Alvin Hildebrand and was to be married on October 7. Jane and her two bridesmaids were returning home to Winkler from Steinbach when they were hit by a drunk driver and Janey was instantly killed. She passed away on Aug 15, 1979.
Janey was survived by her parents, Henry and Margaret Dyck, and her brother Wes. She had a strong faith in Jesus and was baptized the year she graduated high school. She worked at Turtle Mountain Bible Camp for a summer, and went on a Caribbean vacation to Barbados with her close friends. Janey was an amazing person and who knows what she would have accomplished if she was still with us today.
